My Favorite Thanksgiving Books
There are so many fun things to talk about with this holiday: Family traditions, turkeys hiding, strange foods, etc. Here are some of my favorite books! *these are affiliate links*
*Turkey Surprise by Peggy Archer
Two pilgrims look for a turkey, who is
hiding. There is a map inside the front cover that matches the places in the
story!
*Thanksgiving Rules by Laurie Friedman
A funny rhyming story about Thanksgiving
dinner.
by Alison Jackson Cute story for retelling!
*Duck for Turkey Day by Jacqueline Jules
A story about having different foods.
*Thanks for Thanksgiving by Julie Markes
Things to be thankful for.
*Run Turkey Run by Diane Mayr
A turkey tries to hide from the farmer by running away.
*Albert’s Thanksgiving by Leslie Tryon
Lots of note writing between Albert and
the PTA makes this a good book introducing letter writing!
*Turk and Runt by Lisa Wheeler
A funny story about turkeys!
*Books by Kate Waters. Lots of great photos in these books!

Thanksgiving Math and Literacy Centers
One of our
dice centers.
For this spinner game, we used buttons to cover the
pictures.
I love to use paperclips as the spinner. The kids are good
about keeping track of them too.
